Overview

Dynatrace Intelligence for Workflows lets an agent do work on your behalf as a step in a Dynatrace workflow. When a problem is detected or at a time you set, the workflow hands a task to an agent, which works with the tools you allow and within the permissions of the operator it runs as, and returns the result to the workflow, where every following step can use it: annotate the Problem, route it to the responsible team, open a ticket, send an email or Slack message, build a report or notebook, or start a remediation behind an approval step. A person stays in the loop and approves where it matters. Built-in analyzers for anomaly detection, time series forecasting, threshold monitoring and custom analysis let the same workflows recognize patterns in large amounts of data and forecast what is coming, which means an agent can start from a computed finding instead of from raw data.

Use cases

  • Run an agent for the autonomous investigation of a detected problem: it runs its own queries and writes the root cause, key findings and recommendations onto the Problem.
  • Diagnose a Kubernetes anomaly with parallel queries and write the cause and a corrected YAML block back as an event on the workload.
  • Attach the cause and a suggested code fix to a mobile crash problem.
  • Create ServiceNow, Jira or Jira Service Management incidents that already name the cause.
  • Summarize open problems, rank them and send the result as a daily report by email or Slack.
  • Forecast capacity demand and scale resources before a critical incident occurs.
  • Detect changes in service behavior and notify teams before an SLA breach.
  • Run custom analyzers on Grail data to surface trends or compliance risks.

Get started

  1. Enable Dynatrace Intelligence for Workflows in your environment. The generative and agentic AI actions and the analyzers then appear under Dynatrace Intelligence in the Workflows Choose action section.
  2. For the generative and agentic AI actions, an environment admin turns on the generative and agentic AI functionality under Settings > Dynatrace Intelligence > Generative and agentic AI, and the relevant user groups need a policy that allows davis-copilot:conversations:execute.
  3. In Workflows, go to Settings > Authorization settings and grant the following primary and secondary permissions:
  • app-engine:functions:run
  • davis:analyzers:read
  • davis:analyzers:execute
  • storage:bizevents:read
  • storage:buckets:read
  • storage:events:read
  • storage:logs:read
  • storage:metrics:read
  • storage:spans:read
  • storage:system:read
